At SyBridge Technologies, we embrace these capabilities during new product development with open arms. Our knowledge of additive manufacturing, engineering, and product development combined with nTop platform allows us to bring our partners an entirely new class of cutting-edge products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An example of this is in the development of a wrist rest 3D printed in an elastomeric material with the Carbon DLS process. We were excited for the opportunity to use this as an illustrative example of our&nbsp;New Product Development (NPD)&nbsp;process for designing complex 3D printed parts and it\u2019s a perfect opportunity to show the power of nTop platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-getting-started-with-lattice-design-in-ntop\">Getting started with lattice design in nTop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"833\" height=\"715\" src=\"https:\/\/sybridge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/pasted-image-0.png\" alt=\"An ergonomic wrist rest\" class=\"wp-image-4298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sybridge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/pasted-image-0.png 833w, https:\/\/sybridge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/pasted-image-0-300x258.png 300w, https:\/\/sybridge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/pasted-image-0-768x659.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 833px) 100vw, 833px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>An ergonomic wrist rest featuring an elastomeric lattice structure designed with nTop platform.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While additive manufacturing enables a totally new era of complex parts, it is still necessary to have a robust toolset that allows an engineer, designer, or product team to fully utilize these new manufacturing capabilities. nTop\u2019s combination of cutting-edge geometric manipulation and functionalities such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sybridge.com\/3d-lattice-design-elements\/\">complex lattice design<\/a>,&nbsp;generative design, and simulation (to name a few), provides users with the tools they need to send their parts to print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>nTop\u2019s unique representation of geometries through implicit modeling makes it possible to rapidly generate extremely complex, data-driven geometries in real time. This is traditionally an enormous bottleneck in other 3D modeling softwares that rely on BREP, NURBS, or mesh representations of geometries. Depending on environmental factors or the user\u2019s preference, a breathable skin may be desirable. The block system in nTop makes it simple to toggle between options for visual comparison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In industrial design, product semantics allow the form of an object to inform the user of the qualities to expect from them. Using nTop, ramped textures and perforations are easy to implement, offering a simple way of adding elements of visual communication to the user as well as helping base functionality.
