This silicone urethane offers a unique combination of biocompatibility, low durometer, and tear resistance. Applications that require comfort for skin contact are perfect use cases for SIL 30. SIL 30 is comparable to thermoplastic elastomers with a Shore A hardness of 35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mechanical-specifications\">Mechanical Specifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>SIL 30 is soft to the touch and allows the ability to print customized parts \u2013 especially wearables. It\u2019s a specialty material that is only available for specific production applications. Below we have broken down some of SIL 30\u2019s key mechanical specifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ultimate tensile strength: 3.2 MPa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elongation at break: 330%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tear strength: 6 kN\/m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Durometer: 35, Shore A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the Carbon&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/carbon-static-assets\/downloads\/resin_data_sheets\/SIL30_TDS.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SIL 30 technical data sheet<\/a>&nbsp;for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-sil\">Why SIL?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Design tools created specifically for silicon elastomers allow us to tune the performance of SIL 30 through&nbsp;<a href=\"\/understanding-3d-printed-lattices-performance-and-design-considerations\/\">lattice design<\/a>, allowing it to meet unique requirements in a wide range of applications. SIL 30 prints as a rigid green-state material, only becoming flexible and elastomeric after fully curing.
