I think the param written to the __menu table are incorrect
in file: models/ automatic_menu.php function "paramsCategoryBlog($sys" (line:506) should be fixed to:

paramsCategoryBlog($sys){
$params = "show_description=".$sys->category_description."
show_description_image=".$sys->category_description_image."

....

Which version are you using? In version 2, this is in the code already.
